What Is The Novatel MiFi?

Novatel MiFi 2200 With Verizon
David Pogue, of the New York Times, recently reviewed the Novatel MiFi 2200, writing that “It’s always exciting when someone invents a new product category, and this one is a jaw-dropper.”
That new product–the MiFi–is a spectacular cellular Internet modem and wireless router in one tiny box.
Connecting to high-speed cellular data networks, the MiFi brings broadband-speed Internet directly to you, wherever you may be. Once the MiFi connects to a cellular data network, it works as a battery-powered 802.11 b/g WiFi hotspot. Up to five separate devices, as far as 30 feet away, can connect to the MiFi.
Simple, hassle-free usability was obviously a goal during the MiFi’s development. Turning the MiFi on and establishing an Internet connection is as easy as pressing the power button. Your laptop, desktop, PDA, phone, iPhone, iPod, or other gadget can automatically connect to the MiFi as soon as a signal is detected.
Rather than giving yourself carpal tunnel attempting to type message after message on a cramped phone keyboard, and rather than testing the limits of your patience by loading Internet pages on your Blackberry, you can do those things with the comfort and speed of a laptop or netbook.
And the MiFi is super portable, being about the size of a few stacked credit cards. Some users have already commented that they keep their MiFi in their wallets!
With the MiFi, commuting doesn’t have to be wasted idle time. Carpoolers and commuters can work on a train, bus, or in a car. Road trips are quieter and more fun, since children can connect to Internet games on their Nintendo DS or Sony PSP. Computer users can bring laptops and enjoy a stable Internet connection.
The MiFi is simply the easiest, most innovative way to connect multiple people and devices to the Internet anywhere a 3G cellular network can be found.

I am thinking about the Novatel 2352 to use out of the US (mostly Western Europe and Mexico).
Can you tell me if I can get a unlocked MiFi unit and purchase SIM cards with
un-limited data?
Thanks!
