First GSM MiFi Launched: The MiFi 2352

Telefonica Espana has launched the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2352, the first GSM compatible MiFi.
The MiFi 2352 will support triband HSPA (900/1900/2100Mhz) and quadband GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900Mhz). The MiFi 2352 will also be SIM-unlocked, so there will be strong network support around the globe.
Telefonica Espana will provide support for widgets and applications through the MiFi 2352′s launch page, along with unhampered microSD access.
The MiFi 2352 will run a Linux OS, meaning the personal hotspot can host applications coded by third-parties. With the MiFi 2352′s onboard GPS, third-parties should provide a well-rounded selection of location-based applications.
Download speeds average 7.2 Mbps, and upload speeds average 5.76 Mbps on HSPA networks.
